Guarding Britain's Lifeline Medium: Graphite Pencil on Paper (A4) A Royal Navy 'Black Swan' class anti submarine Frigate/Sloop escorts the flank of a slow moving supply convoy in the treacherous- and U-Boat infested- North Atlantic Ocean, late 1942. Bringing Home the Catch Medium: Graphite Pencil on Paper (A4) A vintage British Trawler is mobbed by seabirds as it returns home after a fruitful fishing expedition into the North Sea, c.1940. Herr Kapitän Medium: Graphite Pencil on Paper (A4) Drawn entirely from memory this sketch is supposed to represent Erich Topp, and served as inspiration for the painting 'Der Rote Teufel'. It could, in fact, represent any hard pressed and exhausted U-Boat captain at the end of a hard voyage. 'Gannet' Medium: Graphite Pencil on Paper (A5) This sketch shows Gannet, a typical traditional small fishing boat, currently moored in Beaumaris Harbour, Anglesey, North Wales. These, usually unique, boats make up for in character what they lack in size.
